Steve Staresina is a Canadian artist, living in Oliver, BC, who works mostly in acrylic and oil. He is a representational realist painter and his subjects include landscapes, garden scenes, seascapes, still life and people in portraits or figures.

Steve was born in Croatia and immigrated to Canada at age eight.  As a child living in Croatia, Steve was influenced by Roko Stokic, a wheelchair bound artist with whom he spent countless hours sketching hands, feet, faces and figures of friends and neighbours. He stood out amongst his peers and had his first Art Gallery show at age seven.

Steve earned his living by accomplishing the trades, as a master carpenter, a master electrician and a plumber. He has spent most of his life working as a tradesman, builder or businessman and painted as a hobby. In the 90’s he took up painting seriously.

Today Steve is painting full time and is a participating member of the following local artist groups. The Oliver Community Art Council, Oliver Sagebrushes’ and an Owner Member of the Oliver Art Gallery. He takes commissions.
